Last week we had our degree showcase at Free Range. I presented my Oil Slick newspaper and a looping animation based on the stories of AUCB fine artist Lizzie Latham, with a little bit of set dressing to evoke a coherent universe for these media to exist in.
Almost forgot to take pictures though! Thank the good lord my Dad saw fit to take these when I wasn't looking, it could use a bit of preening but I won't look a gift horse in the mouth (i just did).
Here's a low-res version of the animation too. It looked really nice on the old transistor telly, lovely and flickery.
Still a while to go but with the London mayoral elections in 2012 it would be good to start thinking about posters to get my 2 pence across when the time comes (clue; not rooting for this guy).
Back to something significantly more garish than i've been doing recently but pretty fun regardless. I'm pleased with the semi 3d effect, tres satifying.
Finally got my paper printed, it's 12 pages of narrative stuff with comic strips stories and a big centre poster. If you'd like a copy drop me an email at jacobhughdavies@hotmail.com.
I'm Jacob, a grubby man child from North London. I've just finished an illustration degree in in Bournemouth and am seeking my fortune.
